Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma
This statewide reading initiative offers a unique opportunity for citizens to read and discuss books that explore the Oklahoma experience. Through this program, Oklahomans select one book each year for a statewide reading and discussion program. Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma is modeled after the successful "One Book, One Community" programs that are now present in all 50 states. Unlike the others, this initiative focuses on literature with an Oklahoma theme or that is written by an Oklahoma author. Participants can also help select the title for the following year. The 2007 Oklahoma Reads Oklahoma selection is Fire in Beulah by Rilla Askew. To learn more about this book or other selections, visit:

Harold Keith Oklahoma Centennial Book Club

Centennial Living History
The Oklahoma Museum of History provides a living history presentation of a delegate to the constitutional convention. He is dressed as the delegate and speaks as though he were that individual. He tells of his experiences there, what the major issues were, how he felt about them and why. People can ask the delegate questions about the convention, statehood, and his background. Click here for more information on living history presentations and education programs of the museum.
